50th Annual Congress of the Canadian Association of Hispanists
The Canadian Association of Hispanist celebrates its 50th annual Congress at Brock University in St. Catherines.
The Canadian Association of Hispanists was founded by Professors Richard Pattee (Laval University) and Geoffrey Stagg (University of Toronto) in 1964.The aim of the Association is to promote Hispanic studies in Canada and contribute to the professional activities of its members.
The Canadian Association of Hispanists promotes and supports the study of Spanish language, linguistics, literature, history and Hispanic culture in all its artistic and scientific creations. It also publishes Revista Canadiense de Estudios Hispánicos, created in 1976 by Mario Valdés to help in the dissemination of academic researches, and organizes annual conferences in different parts of the country, with international participation. These conferences are an excellent opportunity for both teachers and students to meet and exchange ideas.
All sessions will be held at Mackenzie Chown Complex, Brock University, except the second Plenary Session and the General Assembly that will be held at Thistle Complex (TH204).
