'Flamenco Hoy' with Chano Domínguez
Flamenco Hoy by renowned filmmaker Carlos Saura transforms flamenco into living images onstage, via the masterful eye of a cinematic genius.
The spectacle, with its mind-boggling dancing, dynamic music and poignant vocals, stars twenty absolutely passionate artists from the new generation of Spanish flamenco, executing the intoxicating choreography of Rafael Estévez and Nani Paños, under the musical direction of flamenco piano master Chano Domínguez. A dazzling journey into the very heart of today’s contemporary Andalusian Flamenco!
Born Sebastián Domínguez Lozano in Cadiz, Chano Domínguez is the first Spanish jazz musician to be signed to the Verve label. With post-bop and latin jazz leanings and a particular fondness for Flamenco, he knows how to merge Jazz, Flamenco and Afro-Cuban sounds with great complexity. Trumpeter Wynton Marsalis has declared Chano one of the top ten musicians in the world.
