Baila Juan by Compañía Juan Ogalla at Flamenco Festival of Montreal 2018
Dancer Juan Ogalla, guitarist Eugenio Iglesias and singers Emilio Florido & Manuel Gago will present the closing performance at the 6th edition of the Flamenco Festival in Montreal.
Originally from Cádiz, Andalusia, dancer and choreographer Juan Ogalla began his professional career at the age of 15 with Manuel Morao’s company. He was then the first dancer of several other companies, including Cristina Hoyos, Manuela Carrasco, Maria Pagés, as well as guest dancer of several others.
Since 2003, he has led of his own company, creating 10 productions that have achieved great success around the world. His latest show, Bailar para contarlo, recently won the Pellizco Flamenco Award at the XXII Festival de Jérez.
He is also a recipient of the Dora Mavor Moore Awards 2018 for his performance in De La Raíz by Esmeralda Enrique’s Dance Company (Toronto), for which he was a choreographer and guest dancer for many years.
