The Hand of Bacchus at EU Short Film Festival 2024

The Spanish Short Film “The Hand of Bacchus” will be screened at the 11th edition of Ottawa’s European Union Short Film Festival.

Hosted by the Arst Court Theatre of Ottawa, this festival will run May 3 and 4 and include short dramas, documentaries, animation, and experimental films.

45 minutes before the theatre doors open, enjoy European food and drinks provided by the EU embassies at the Tastes of Europe reception.

The chosen short film to represent Spain in this year’s edition is The Hand of Bacchus.

The Hand of Bacchus

  • Directed by Fernando Landaluce, Cándido Pazos and Santiago Vivanco, Spain, 2005, 12 minutes.

Joining modernity and tradition, the bronze statue by sculptor Cándido Pazos is transported from Galicia to the wine region of La Rioja.
