Confluencias by Melón Jiménez & Lara Wong in Toronto
Guitarist Melón Jiménez and flautist Lara Wong debut their project “Confluencias” in Ottawa, blending flamenco-inspired rhythms and melodies with electronic soundscapes and mystical bansuri tunes.
After two years of composing, performing, and touring together, the duo of guitarist Melón Jiménez and flautist Lara Wong, who also plays the bansuri (an Indian flute), presents their new project, Confluencias, at BSMT254.
This project blends rhythms and melodies inspired by flamenco. In a dialogue between cultures, Confluencias takes audiences on a musical journey filled with flamenco guitar riffs, electronic soundscapes, mystical bansuri melodies, and flute improvisations.
They will be accompanied on this occasion by George Crotty (cello), Lia Grainger (dance) and Tamar Ilana (vocals).
